In this week’s “what-u-playin” show, Dale, Legrande and Jeremy have chosen their weapons with which to do deadly combat. Jeremy adopts a seafood diet with Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido on the Nintendo Switch. Dale goes over the top with machine-shotguns (or some such nonsense) and LeGrande has studied the blade in Katana Zero.

Our League of Ordinary Gentlemen reconvenes to talk about the news of the past week. We cover Nintendo’s newest Direct and what they showed, SNES games on Switch, Overwatch and new joycon patents, transfer your Destiny 2 stuff, and DOOM gets a liquor. We discuss news and new releases, and we face the hard facts: are game subscription services pushing us away from buying actual games? In a very special episode of the GameBytes Show podcast, Jeremy is joined by one-time podcast cohost of yesteryear, Sean Kirkland from the Tech Gaming podcast! Jeremy and Sean bring that old-timey flair to the GBS podcast, giving “impressions” (the T-G term) of games we played this week. Sean starts the ball rolling with Dragon Quest 11, and we discuss its spiritual predecessor DQ8 and how they relate. Jeremy steers the show into Knights & Bikes, a new co-operative adventure games that embody the 1980s on lonely crummy islands in the North Atlantic.

The games we played this week are new spins on old ideas! This week Jeremy takes wing in No Man’s Sky with the new Beyond update, including VR support and several improvements. Dale has to make the decision whether to plug back into the game after 60+ hours, but the decision may not be all that difficult. We pivot to LeGrande for the remainder of the show who has sampled the WoW Classic release this week, and he tells us whether it’s worth it to return to Azeroth, again, for the first time.

This Dale, Jerod, and Jeremy are traversing the perils of the undersea world, the dangers of outer space, and the risks of corneal abrasions! Jerod talks about early access unterseeboot simulator Uboat, and the punishments that you can expect if you misbehave on the SS Jerod. Dale investigates the Witch Hat Nebula and finds the loneliest spot in all the galaxy to play the multiplayer space-exploration game. Jeremy plays new mobile game Witcheye, which is the best new eyeball-based collision platformer out this year! Join us as worlds and eyeballs collide!

This week’s news and new releases podcast is brought to you by hadskaaaa and hadskabaa. What does that mean? Venture within to learn more! This week we discuss queues for WoW Classic, a retired game creator may be getting back into the life, Factor 5 is making some (lukewarm) headlines, No Man’s Sky gets its latest (huge) update, Spelunky 2 is delayed, and Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo ride again! We also talk about the newest releases, and then Dale and Jeremy decide to throw some shade on the biggest lies video games ever told us.

Dale and Jerod and Jeremy have a theme going this week. Outer space and Norse mythology! Makes sense. In the games we played this week, Jeremy gives his final impressions on God of War 2018, and its slow burn and big payoffs. Dale and Jerod (who actually HAVE a theme) get into the newest updates from Elite Dangerous and the newly-released Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. There’s a bit to compare and contrast here, and we’d hate for you to get your Dad of Boy mixed up with your Elite Galaxy Dangerous Outlaw.

It is games time, and we know you just LOVE games, right? On today’s show Dale, LeGrande, and Jeremy jaw about the newest in early access, new release, and deluxe DLC that they’ve been playing. LeGrande kicks us off with a revisit to Crytek’s PVPVE swamp stomp, Hunt: Shodown. How has the game progressed since its early alpha? Dale continues with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the Igavania game we’ve all been waiting for. Does it knock his socks off and take away his abilities until he regains them later? Last, Jeremy tries out the latest life-infusion for Grand Theft Auto Online, the Diamond Casino release. Does it raise the bar, or fold? Listen and find out!

This week’s games lineup is short but oh so sweet! LeGrande has been rocking through Hyrule with Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda! Yes, that’s the entire title. Jeremy deals with gravity, physics, space travel and banjo music in Outer Wildes. Two great tastes that taste great together!
