We’re catching you up on the video games we played this week. Is it Kingdom Come Deliverance? Prey? Night Call? Creature in the Well? Blair Witch? No. These are the games LeGrande installed. In fact, we talk about Slay the Spire, a pretty good (but simple) roguelike card game. Jeremy played some free-to-start Kirby Super Clash on the Nintendo Switch, but gem apples taste sour. Don’t let that spoil the whole bunch! Have a bite!

Our thirst to satisfy your hunger for the news shall not be slaked. So we’re back, and we’re parched. This week, Jeremy, Dale, and LeGrande (and perhaps more) sit down at the hungry-thirsty table for the feast of current events. Shawn Layden departs Sony abruptly, PS Now gets reasonable, TLOU2, RDR2, Kirby dies, Destiny 2 changes, AlphaDream files, and more! Plus, we discuss our favorite development studios that have gone the way of the dodo.

In this cookiecast, LeGrande, Dale, and Jeremy are here to ask the hard questions. Science, energy drinks, and car frost are all bearing our scientific scrutiny today. But we don’t neglect games, and we got plenty to talk about. First, Dale talks about the highly-eventual release of Cube World, from a years-ago preorder. Jeremy causes mayhem with Untitled Goose Game. LeGrande elucidates the quickplay mode of Hunt: Showdown! Have a listen!

In this game-news-of-the-week episode, we revisit Sony’s recent “State of Play” event and what came from it. The Homeworld campaign is successful, but there’s still a chance to influence it. Ms Pac-Man enters the intellectual property twilight zone. The Uncharted movie gets director #6. And Half-Life 2 gets a major update. Plus, loads of freebies and subscription benefits, and we discuss games that allow you to be a public nuisance!

We know you’re busy, so we’ll get right to the point. We got games. This week Dale talks about Warhammer Combat Cards. Jerod has been exploring and exploiting Greedfall, and Jeremy gets behind the wheel of Mario Kart Tour. And that’s what you’re going to hear about!

In the news this week, a few announcements. First, Sony’s State of Play for Fall 2019. A French court rules that Valve is in violation of resale law. Billy Mitchell is being Billy Mitchell. We get an estimate of the payoff for Epic Games Store exclusivity. ESA proposes some changes to E3, and more! Plus, new releases and freebies, and we discuss our most- and least-favorite video game aesthetics!

Jeremy and LeGrande get together to compare weapons, and this week everything is a little weird looking. First, LeGrande returns to the Gears of War franchise with Gears 5. Chainsaw rifles are still in style as he cuts through locusts in multiplayer and the campaign. He discusses what makes this entry its own, while Jeremy gets confused about “GoW” video game terminology. Jeremy takes the reins for Devil May Cry 5 and pulls out a motorcycle-revving sword and a book of emo poetry. Seriously. We discuss (as we do) our relative preference for the western storytelling style of DmC but how some of the DnA has made it into this game for the better.

In our latest top-of-the-week news show, we cover the most relevant events in gaming, like the Nintendo Switch Ring. And Fit Adventure. And Anthem. Trust us, you’re going to be glad you heard all this stuff. Discord changes its Nitro policy, and a Hearthstone Pro gets his head turned around at an inopportune time. Plus, we cover the new releases and freebies around the web, and we discuss whether subscription services should be “right-sizing” their benefits to match actual usage.

In this week’s “what-u-playin” show, Dale, Legrande and Jeremy have chosen their weapons with which to do deadly combat. Jeremy adopts a seafood diet with Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido on the Nintendo Switch. Dale goes over the top with machine-shotguns (or some such nonsense) and LeGrande has studied the blade in Katana Zero.

Our League of Ordinary Gentlemen reconvenes to talk about the news of the past week. We cover Nintendo’s newest Direct and what they showed, SNES games on Switch, Overwatch and new joycon patents, transfer your Destiny 2 stuff, and DOOM gets a liquor. We discuss news and new releases, and we face the hard facts: are game subscription services pushing us away from buying actual games?
