In this week’s news show, we slurp at the drip-feed of PlayStation 5 news with the DualSense controller, chew on an “indefinite” game delay, and look at how Animal Crossing New Horizons is spilling into real life. We also cover new releases, a bunch of freebies and upates, and since remakes are grinding in the rumor mill, we discuss some notable “best-case” remakes in video games!

Jerod and Jeremy hit the midweek show for a little change of pace to share some new games that we tried out this week! What we have is fresh and poignant, a little something for everyone, as long as what you like is either Mount and Blade II: Bannerlords, or Sky: Children of the Light. Jerod takes us through the rags-to-riches-and-horses arc of Mount and Blade 2, and Jeremy has been spending time holding hands in Sky, the newest game from thatgamecompany out on Android phones. So listen in, because this is definitely of interest to you if you want to hear about those two things!

We’re here to play pranks and play video games. Or mostly play video games. And talk about playing video games. And you’re here to listen, right? Let’s get to it! This week LeGrande has donned the VR goggles and played Half-Life Alyx, and barely made it back with his face intact. Jeremy looks off into Animal Crossing New Horizons, and brings the guys some context and recommendations for time at home with family. Dale gets a taste for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and finds that it has improved some since his last go.

The news this week is coming in slow but hot, like a pleasant burning sensation. This week we catalogue the details of the recent Nintendo Direct Mini, some changes to the upcoming speedrunning event schedules, a recommendation from WHO?, and some quick turnaround mods for some pretty good games. We discuss the new releases and some freebies, and we talk about what we’ve done to deal with copius downtime using video games and family time.

It’s the time of the week that we bring the GAMES, and it’s been a pretty good week as far as game time goes. The guys have brought a bounty to offer you in case you’ve got some time on your hands to figure things out. Dale has broken fellowship with Magic for a week to play The Lord of the Rings: The Adventure Card Game. It’s much better than it sounds. Jeremy checked out Ninja Theory’s new character-based arena shooter Bleeding Edge. As prophecy foretold, LeGrande has gone all-in on DOOM Eternal.

This week’s show seems like it would be less momentous, but gosh darn it we’ll make a mountain out of that molehill! The video game news of the past few days includes the remnants of the now-canceled GDC including Mark Cerny’s PS5 talk, the Steam Game Festival, and the IGF winners. We also discuss a leaked Tales from the Borderlands trailer, Gamestop’s coronavirus saga, and a few tidbits from Valve and Gabe Newell to tickle your post-brain interface. Plus, we hit the new releases, freebies, and deals, and we construct a no-fail home curriculum for kids home from school for extended periods. Definitely use it this week.

This week we’ve got a little something for everyone, from Ori to Flammie and everything in between in this false continuum. LeGrande finishes off Ori and the Will of the Wisps and it may be a contender for his game of the year so far! Dale has been giving up physical cards for digital ones with Magic the Gathering: Arena. Jeremy has been playing the oldie-but-goodie(?) Secret of Mana on the Nintendo Switch “Secret of Mana Collection.” Get your flammie on!

Personal log, it has been days and days since we’ve seen the sun. Haven’t washed. Haven’t seen other humans. Pretty great so far. This week we beam the news out to you from the bunker! E3 is for-realio-trulio canceled. Reggie Fils-Aime joins GameStop’s board of directors. Professional sports might have a second chance in video games. Everyone is logged in and lots of people are playing games. Super Mario comes to LEGO, and more! New releases and freebies are on offer. Plus, we found out who bought the Nintendo Playstation and we imagine what our life of filthy wealth might look like.

In this week’s games-we-played extravaganza, Dale and LeGrande and Jeremy have been hitting some new hotness and also a Warhammer game. Dale gets that last bit out of the way up front by discussing Warhammer: 40,000: Inquisitor: Martyr. (Colons speculative). LeGrande has been playing the new Warzone mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and Jeremy gets a shot in at the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo before talking mostly about Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

LeGrande and Jeremy tackle the newsiest news of the week in video games! We find this week that more public gatherings are succumbing to viral marketing. A couple of big players log out of E3. The nintendo Playstation has sold at auction for a tidy sum, but was it worth it? The Last of Us gives up the movie adaptation for something a little different, and Google is on the ball and starting a game studio for that Stadia platform you may have heard is coming out. Plus, we talk about new releases and freebies and sales, and we discuss the most historically under-utilized genres in video games!
