Game Bytes :: August 6, 2020 :: They’re After Your Pants, Like the Song Says

Game Bytes :: August 6, 2020 :: They’re After Your Pants, Like the Song Says

This week’s episode features a gruesome twosome of Dale and Jeremy talking about GAMES. The games they played this week, in fact. Dale covers the board-game-to-PC-game adaptation of Space Hulk (pretty sure we either have or have not covered this one before) and has to set the licensing record as straight as he can. Jeremy played the technical test beta for Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout (not to be confused with the old Lee Majors TV show, Jeremy), and describes the defeat-focused gameplay that just keeps bringing him back.

Game Bytes :: August 2, 2020 :: Giving The People What They Want More or Less

This week’s news meanders a bit, but we make sure your core needs are being addressed: the need for gaming news. This episode covers Microsoft’s response to our questions about Xbox Game Pass. We discuss mod support in the Epic Games Store. Ubisoft SORT OF addresses public demand for their franchises, and Metal Gear Solid 5 players reach a peaceful conclusion, sort of. Plus, new releases and all of August’s freebies, and we discuss the most game-changing mods we’ve enjoyed in the past!

Game Bytes :: July 29, 2020 :: Tentacles, Pseudopods, and Khazads

In this week’s episode we dig into a handful of very different (yet strangely contiguous) games to talk about! First, LeGrande gets into World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. It’s an MMO with a tinge of tentacle talk. Dale talks about his experience with The Lord of the Rings Online, continuing the swords-and-magic MMO theme and revisiting an oldie-but-maybe-goodie. Finally, Jeremy returns to tentacles with Carrion on Xbox Game Pass, and makes a sideways jaunt to other blobby appendages with the full release of Teenage Blob.

Game Bytes :: July 26, 2020 :: Look Who S.T.A.L.K.in Too!

It’s time to catch our breath from non-E3 2020 and take stock of what’s been happening. Microsoft had their event, and also close Mixer. Ninteno suffers a deep probe-and-release, and Ubisoft hints at their next-gen price point. Half the kids in America are playing one game, and GabeN has been off the radar for a while. Plus, new releases and some sales and freebies, and we square up the PS5 and Xbox Series X based on their respective showings in recent weeks.

Game Bytes :: July 22, 2020 :: Mess with the Anime Bull, You Get the Horns

We return true to our final form, with another podcast of games impressions with a 3-man crew. This time we get into a hoof-in-mouth brawl with Them’s Fightin’ Herds, we love good strategy but tire of anime in Fire Emblem Awakening on the 3DS (in 2D), and we try out the new battle royale game Hyper Scape from the Ubisoft Forward open beta!

Game Bytes :: July 15, 2020 :: How Will You Escape El Presidente’s Dungeon?

This week, the mid-July power duo Dale and Jeremy get down to business with leisure. It’s video game time! Dale delves into The Legend of Grimrock 2 for some good old-fashioned dungeon crawling, but with that classic “farmer eats food to gain XP” twist. Jeremy takes a quick trip to the banana republic of Tropico 2 for the weekend, and comes away with an appreciation for the delicacy of the position of presidente-for-life!

Oh the games that we play. Specifically, oh the games that we play each week to bring to you on the GameBytes Show podcast! This week LeGrande kicks us off with his descent into hell, over and over again with Hades. Dale gets got, over and over again with surprisingly-rewarding card game Legends of Runeterra. Jeremy plumbs the SNK freebie fighting games on Twitch Prime to sort out who is truly the King of Fighters… 2000.

Game Bytes :: June 24, 2020 :: The Buridan’s Ass of Sidequests

Game Bytes :: June 24, 2020 :: The Buridan’s Ass of Sidequests

This week we get a little philosophical about the nature of sidequests and how much work and ethics are involved therein. LeGrande goes back to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to lament the overabundance of “pretty good” sidequests on the game’s map. But how can he choose? Dale has gotten into Destiny 2, and a little bit of The Horus Heresy: Legions. Jeremy traversed the deserts and savannahs of northern Africa in the pre-WWII nazi-fighter, Pathway.

Outro: “The Court of Savath√Ľn” – Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals, by Michael Salvatori & Skye Lewin, Josh Mosser, Michael Sechrist, Rotem Moav and Pieter Shlosse
