It’s good-cop-better-cop time again as Dale and Jeremy tackle the video game news of the week for your entertainment and edification! This week the big issues range far and wide, from PSN name changes to weird Labo ads starring toad. In between, the Disney+ service will come to consoles, Respawn reveals their Star Wars game, Final Fantasy 15’s director is working on a game for the Paralympics, and a real world politician has been ousted from office in EVE Online. We cover the new releases and headline-grabbing updates, and we discuss some great new business startup ideas in the game space, inspired by FFX/FFX-2 ads at our local boba tea place.

This week Dale and Jeremy present a dichotomy of mobile games, and we invite you along for the ride! First, Dale plays what appears to be a mobile-platform game upscaled to PC. Braveland is a hex-based strategy game that MIGHT approach X-COM or King’s Bounty, but does it hold up to other “big boy” games? Jeremy comes at us with the new The Elder Scrolls Blades, which is hearkens back to early games in the long-running and respected series. But has it become “free-to-play-mobile-ified”, or does it maintain its integrity as a proper gaming experience? Let’s find out!

Epic is all about them exclusives again, but Octopath Traveler may come to PC, while John and Brenda Romero strike up a strategy deal with Paradox. The crew has played some games and it is time to jam about them. LeGrande has been teasing Pyre, and we get to dig into all our burning questions about the weird similarities it bears to Space Jam. Dale has been playing Awesomenauts, but is it awesome, or naut? Jeremy is sleuthing for clues in Hot Tin Roof: The Cat That Wore a Fedora, but is it as clunky as the title seems to suggest?

Lunch is on us this week, and we’re making a video game sandwich. Video games in the middle, and video games on either side. This week, Jerod is bringing Dawn of Man for some procedural, complicated caveman-city-building. Jeremy enchants us with Spellbreak, the alpha version of the newest battle royale game starring wizards and “infinitely variable” magic slotting, and then Jerod closes our open-face sandwich with a good bit of The Division 2, and all the improvements it makes over the original!
